Cash rewards are paid for tips that result in the arrest or indictment of those responsible. ​DARE: presented in the Yankton elementary schools. ​Pet Licensing: annual required licensing of dogs and cats. ​Animal Control, ​Citizens Academy, ​Medication Disposal: shares year-round prescription drug take-back site with Yankton County Sheriff's Office; and the ​Sex Offender Registry.

The Systems of Care (SOC) program is a wraparound approach to delivering services to at-risk youth and families. This program is a free resource available to children under the age of 18 and their families and is meant to be a temporary service to help meet the needs of the child and family. Identified needs include but are not limited to basic needs, social supports, emotional needs, educational needs, community supports, housing supports, health, and safety. Services will conclude once all needs have been met. In instances where the child or a family member requires additional supports outside of what can be provided through this program, assistance will be provided in obtaining these additional services.

Bereavement services for family members is also available. The PATH (Providing Access to Healing) Program provides school-based mental health counseling services in a partnership between LSS, local school districts, and the Sioux Empire United Way. PATH provides confidential, individual counseling sessions at the school for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Counseling sessions are held in a private room on-site at the school during regular school hours. Every effort is made to have as minimal impact as possible on the students daily routine. Counselors use accepted therapy practices that are appropriate for the student's age and challenges. A counseling session could include talking, art, games, movement, toys, or music as therapy tools. More than 40 schools in Sioux Falls, Harrisburg, Canton, Brandon Valley, Garretson, Dell Rapids, Baltic, Tea Area, Sioux Falls Catholic, West Central, and Tri-Valley are involved. Individual school participation varies.

28-day medically monitored inpatient treatment for adults with a family component.

Offers addiction and mental health services. Licensed professionals provide assessments, outpatient treatment and referrals to specialty care. Crisis assistance, family therapy, support groups and clients are offered resources for cultural/spiritual guidance. Outreach services are provided to the school and corrections.

Hospice: Offers a multidisciplinary team that addresses the patient and their family addressing physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and bereavement needs. Services include clinician on-call 24/7, pain management, guidance with Advanced Care Planning, forms, and financial care needs, provide medications, durable medical equipment, and supplies needed to treat life limiting illness, support and teach family/caregivers how to care for the patient, and grief/bereavement counseling for up to 13 months after the patient has passed away.

The Mental Health Service Line provides connection to outpatient mental health services, psychiatry services, local recovery coordination, care coordination, and peer support services. Also offers care for military sexual trauma, PTSD, suicide prevention and awareness outreach, and gun safety locks. Telehealth service options are available.

Offers crisis/sooner access mental health therapy sessions for patients experiencing increased mental health needs. Sessions often can be scheduled same-day or within 3 business days. Patient meets with mental health therapist for a 30-45 minute brief crisis session: processing stressors, support systems, coping mechanisms, providing brief therapeutic interventions. Goal is to meet patients in their time of need and assist with re-regulation of emotional state and assisting with ensuring ongoing follow-up care (if needed).
