Offers individual therapy for adults and adolescents and relationship counseling for couples of all ages. Utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed therapy, mindfulness and experiential practices. Specialties include trauma, relationship stress, infidelity, intimacy issues, history of childhood physical, emotional and sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, social phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anger management, emotional regulation, grief and loss, gender identity, sexual identity, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The Union County Veterans Service Office (VSO) educates and assists veterans and their dependents and/or survivors in applying for veterans' benefits including benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the State of South Dakota. Referrals are also made to other agencies that may have potential benefits for veterans. Areas of primary activity are obtaining military records and discharges, death/burial benefits, education benefits, home loan certificates, non-service connected pension, service connected compensation, state bonus program, survivors benefits, and veteran affairs health care. Veterans are encouraged to register their discharge information (DD Form 214, Report of Separation) with the Union County Registrar of Deeds Office.

Counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups, working with trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions and recovery. Individual, family, and couples issues are addressed. Specialties include Level II in both EMDR (a trauma technique) and Gottman marriage counseling.

Services provided include prescription pick-up (these are delivered from Freeman daily), diabetes education and support, durable medical equipment (i.e. canes and walkers, bathroom equipment, orthopedic supplies, nebulizers, etc.), immunizations, long-term pharmacy, Medicare open enrollment, and a medication disposal site. Accepts UPS drop off packages for free. Customers can use the My Community Pharmacy to refill medications, set medication reminders, and track refill status.

Provides care packages to those families and a network of connections to others who have experienced a similar loss. A Run for Their Lives! 5K run/walk event is held annually on Mother's Day. Participate in-person in Spearfish, SD, or virtually from anywhere! This event is a great way to honor the memory of a child with a community of supporters. Also works to provide SIDS and safe-sleep awareness and education as well as funding for SIDS-related research. Operations are home-based.

This involves the prevention, detection, apprehension, prosecution, and detention of those persons who violate criminal, civil, state, or local laws. Assistance is available in emergency situations, medical distress, vehicle accidents, and animal control. The County Sheriff is also the contact mental health holds, burning bans, county jails/correctional facilities and fingerprinting (call for specifics). Brookings County Sheriff has a dropbox for proper disposal of prescription medication. Old American flags can be properly disposed of at this location.

Pharmacy services include immunizations, prescription refills, health screenings, and a medication disposal drop box. - Medication disposal drop-boxes for expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications, including pet medications. Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.

Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) - Provides information and referrals to local resources for Air Force Families with an exceptional family member (whether medical, emotional, physical or educational). Military and Family Life Counselor Program - Masters or doctorate-level licensed counselors provide short term, non-medical counseling services to service members and their families at no-cost (anger management, communication, relationship issues, conflict resolution, parenting, decision making skills, deployment stress, coping skills, homesickness, relocation adjustment, reintegration, separation, sadness, grief and loss). Personal Financial Management - Provides counseling and education with budget and savings management. This can be done in a one-to-one financial counseling setting or in a class. In conjunction with the American Center for Credit Education, provides classes such as Credit when Credit is Due, Money In Motion, and Home Buying classes for financial education. Readiness program - Assists military members and their families to prepare and go through deployments, TDY's, and remote tours. The Readiness program offers assistance with pre-deployment counseling, preparing practical aspects of separations, providing support to families, and offering reunion support.

24-hour emergency shelter for women and children that provides crisis services for rape victims, child abuse victims and their non-offending family members, family members of homicide victims, adults molested as children, and victims of elder abuse.
