A long-term (up to 24 months) shelter for victims of human trafficking. Victims must be willing to stay at least 6 months. Pathfinder Center is not an emergency short-term shelter. Mission is to provide a place of refuge for victims of human trafficking from all over South Dakota. Safety - Women have stable, safe housing and protection from traffickers. They become part of a healthy, safe community of support that provides compassionate assistance while they address pressing legal, medical and emotional needs. Services and Support - Women receive addiction counseling, job skills/GED classes, emergency counseling and transportation. Services wil also include a crisis hotline, clothing, food and hygiene items. Self Development - Women learn life skills such as communication, conflict resolution, understanding boundaries, understanding trafficking and trauma, and making safe choices to help them live independent lives. Cannot accept anyone who is still using drugs or alcohol. If the victim is still using substances/has addiction issues, they must attend treatment prior to receiving services.

Integrative treatments for trauma, as well as depression/anxiety that has not been responsive to traditional modalities. Provides for initial assessment and stabilization of adult psychiatric patients. During the 12-15 day average length of stay, the program initiates and develops treatment and discharge plans. The program promotes and facilitates the patients independent functioning in daily activities. Emphasis is on providing care, treatment and rehabilitation services that will enable the patients to return to and function in the community at the earliest possible time. The Acute Program is Medicare approved by the Health Care Financing Administration. The Intensive Treatment Unit is available for adults and adolescents who require short term intensive monitoring.

Provides secure detention of juveniles who have allegedly committed a delinquent act and non-secure detention for alleged children in need of supervision. While in detention, the juvenile is provided educational and recreational opportunities. The educational services are provided by the Sioux Falls School District. Juveniles may be sentenced to the Center by the Courts for up to 90 days.

Offers connection, comfort, and hope to families who have experienced the unexpected loss of an infant. Provides care packages to those families and a network of connections to others who have experienced a similar loss. A Run for Their Lives! 5K run/walk event is held annually on Mother's Day. Participate in-person in Spearfish, SD, or virtually from anywhere! This event is a great way to honor the memory of a child with a community of supporters. Also works to provide SIDS and safe-sleep awareness and education as well as funding for SIDS-related research. Operations are home-based.
