Providing mental health services for children, adolescents, adults and families. Specializes in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidenced based therapy for parents and their children age 2 - 7 who have emotional and behavioral issues. Medically Monitored Withdrawal Management: Individuals in need of medically monitored detoxification treatment for substance use disorders may participate in our 10-bed program. Individuals may be admitted voluntarily or involuntarily under an Emergency Detainment or Involuntary Drug and Alcohol Committal (IVC). During a short-term stay (approximately 3-7 days), we will provide medical stabilization to support a safe withdrawal and provide recommendations for continued care and treatment after discharge. Sobering Observation for Intoxicated Individuals: Individuals under the influence of alcohol or other mood-altering substances who are in need of observation and support in order to reach a safe level of sobriety may participate in our sobering observation program. Prior to discharge, we will offer connections to community resources and provide education regarding available substance use treatment options.

Outpatient Services - Individual therapy (for mental health or substance use), Family therapy, Group therapy, Medication management, Psychological assessments and testing, Commitment evaluations, Nursing home consultations, and 24-hour a day crisis intervention via crisis line. Walk in assessments available during regular business hours at the Yankton and Vermillion locations. CARE Club - Program for individuals with a mental health disability (i.e. schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety and borderline personality) who live in the community. CARE club provides support, assistance, interaction with others and the opportunity to improve consumers existing skills and develop new coping skills. Children's Services - Provides child centered therapeutic services in the home or office. This program provides mental health services to children with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). The parents, families, and surrogate families of children with SED participate in all aspects of evaluation, planning and delivery of services. Works closely with child-serving agencies and programs.

Equine Assisted Counseling (EAC) is the combined use of horses, a licensed therapist, and a horse specialist working with clients to address various individual treatment goals. EAC is safe and all activities are done from the ground. No riding is involved.

6-week class to learn how to better manage and express anger. Individual counseling also available.

Mental health services with a holistic approach. Experience in working with children, adults, marital counseling, family sessions, group sessions, Native Americans, and veterans. Offers ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), social groups for children ages 10-12 and 18-21 who are neurodivergent. Experience in depression, anxiety, PTSD, life coaching, etc. Offers services via telehealth. Same day appointments are available for both counseling and psychiatry services.

Falls Community Health is a family practice medical clinic and dental clinic with emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention. The Community Health Center was established in 1979 with its goal being to remove the barriers, primarily financial, that exist and limit the access of lower income individuals or families seeking primary health care services.  ​Services for the general public include family health, lab radiology, well-child care, immunizations, family planning (including birth control, STD screening and treatment), patient education, and dental care. Services for established clinic patients include outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling, psychiatry services, transportation assistance (transporter of last resort), and pharmacy assistance to clients of the Falls Community Health Care Clinic.

Pharmacy services include immunizations, prescription refills, health screenings, and a medication disposal drop box. - Medication disposal drop-boxes for expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications, including pet medications. Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.

Provides support services to all victims of domestic violence/sexual assault to ensure they receive a continuum of quality care through unified efforts of the team. Through the collaborative partnership, the team is comprised of representatives from: local and state law enforcement agencies, State's Attorney's Office, nurses, staff and advocates from the local shelter, victim and witness specialists, and campus officials from local University and Technical Institute counselors.

Areas of care include anxiety, blended families, career changes, caregiver support, communication, depression, divorce, grief and loss, identity, infertility, life transition and adjustments, parenting, stress, women's health and wellness through the life span. Suicide Prevention Specialist programming to assist with prevention activities.
