Sanford Hospice is a specially trained team that is committed to providing our patients with quality end-of-life care. Our interdisciplinary team understands and is sensitive to the needs of our patients and their loved ones. Our team is comprised of nurses, medical director, social workers, dietitians, volunteers and chaplains. Hospice services can be provided wherever that patient calls home. This includes inpatient hospice, hospice cottages, nursing homes, assisted livings, and other long term care facilities. Hospice cottages, a unique way to care for a terminally-ill patient who is unable to remain in their home for care, are available, as well. ​​Ava's House features 16 adult patient rooms and 4 pediatric patient rooms. Psychological testing and evaluation services available for issues including Autism spectrum, learning disorders, attention deficit / hyperactive disorder (ADD/ADHD), bipolar, anxiety, depression, ability and achievement, IQ, memory, bariatric surgery evaluations, and court-ordered evaluations. Specializing in therapeutic services for depression, life-transition, behavioral issues, divorce, premarital, families, relationship issues, parenting, work-life balance, LGBTQ, grief and loss, serious and chronic disease, postpartum depression, infertility, stress management, eating disorders, physical disability, abuse issues, and chronic pain. Offers psychological services to help people in distress relieve their suffering, restore their hope, and reach their potential in an environment of encouragement, compassion and respect, with highly qualified staff committed to effective services. Outpatient, voluntary walk-in center for youth in middle and high school who are in crisis or considering suicide. The Hughes County Juvenile Service Center was established to provide secure and safe detention for Juveniles who are accused, adjudicated, given a disposition, and/or awaiting transfer to another facility.

Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families (ACA) is a 12-step program to help people recover from being raised in an alcoholic or otherwise dysfunctional home. Meeting formats include: in person, telephone, audio, and online. Visit national website for updated information.

Children's Services - Provides child centered therapeutic services in the home or office. This program provides mental health services to children with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). The parents, families, and surrogate families of children with SED participate in all aspects of evaluation, planning and delivery of services. Health Care Worker Stress Hotline - Available for any health care professional in South Dakota who might need someone to talk to about stress, anxiety, depression or other impacts caused by COVID-19 and other life events.

In-home case management for children, youth, and/or families that are at risk of system involvement (child welfare, juvenile justice, criminal justice, etc.). Assists caregivers strengthen their families and prevent child abuse and neglect through education, skill development and therapeutic crisis management.
