The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe operates under a constitution approved on April 24, 1959 by the Tribal Council of Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. The Tribal Council consists of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, a Secretary and fourteen additional Councilmen which are elected by the tribal members. Provides secure detention of juveniles who have allegedly committed a delinquent act and non-secure detention for alleged children in need of supervision. While in detention, the juvenile is provided educational and recreational opportunities. The educational services are provided by the Sioux Falls School District. Juveniles may be sentenced to the Center by the Courts for up to 90 days.
