Geriatric Program | Human Services Center

​Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services of medical and psychiatric natures to persons with physical conditions requiring nursing home care and psychiatric conditions requiring in-patient hospitalization. Services are delivered in such a way as to allow the patients maximum opportunity to function as independently as possible in activities of daily living. The goal is for the patients to reside in the least restrictive environment, including return to an appropriate community setting. This program operates with 3 units located in Spruce Terrace and Willow Terrace I buildings.

Prescription Drug Drop Off Program | City of Sioux Falls Police Department

A secure box is available for drop off of unwanted, unused, or expired medications. No liquid medication is accepted A separated 'sharps' container is available A separate container is designated for chemotherapy drugs The drop box is located on the left side of the Law Enforcement Center front desk. People can bring their medication in and drop in the box. No information is required and no forms are necessary.

The Helpline Center's Suicide and Crisis Support is an accredited suicide prevention, intervention and after-care organization, delivering the hope and understanding you need. Services include call, text, chat 988 to connect with a 988 Crisis Counselor, grief support for individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide, and professional suicide awareness and prevention training.

Some regular activities include: Inipi sweat purification ceremony for all Indigenous community members seeking spiritual connection, being mindful of those in attendance and taking care that all participants feel safe. Those who are on their moon time are respectfully asked to not attend. Community Inipi is open to men, women, children, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse community members seeking spiritual connection. Women's Inipi is open to all women, as well as Two-Spirit and non-binary community members who align with women's spiritual teachings. Positive Indian Parenting (PIP) - an 8-week parent training class for Indigenous parents, caregivers, non-Native foster parents of Indigenous children, and others who strive to be more positive in their approach to parenting. It is a structured exploration of traditional American Indian and Alaska Native values concerning parenting and helps participants apply those values in a modem setting. Red Road Approach (RRA) men's and women's groups provide a cognitive and experiential curriculum on Native American/Indigenous philosophies, activating the spirit for individuals, families, and communities. Participants are guided through lessons on the impacts of alcohol and drugs on the mind, body, and spirit. This 10-week adult program meets on a weekly basis. Incentives are available for graduates of the program. ​Spiritual Group is a safe space for those seeking support, healing, and a time to connect with others in the community. All are welcome. Alcoholics Anonymous provides a confidential, safe and non- judgmental setting for those experiencing substance use disorder (SUD). Other cultural activities, such as Walking group and therapeutic crafts, are offered during the week to take care of individuals spirit and keep connected to traditional Indigenous ways of life.
