Stepping Stones is fully accredited with the State of South Dakota and works with individuals from all walks of life, offering a wide variety of treatment experiences including Treatment Needs Assessments, Detoxification, Intensive Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment, First Offender DUI Courses, Adolescent and Adult Aftercare, Adolescent Treatment, Anger Management, Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT), Relapse Prevention Courses, Parenting classes, Strengths Group, CBISA, and Readiness group for Federal probationers.

Case Management and IMPACT Programs, designed to help clients with severe and persistent mental illness, services include case management and continued care, medication management with psychiatrist, crisis intervention assistance, and psychiatric rehabilitation which seeks to provide program services that assist clients in developing skills and manage resources needed to allow them to be successful in the community. A client centered, client directed form of treatment, the program consists of services designed to restore the disabled person to a level of functioning which permits a useful, meaningful life.

Counseling Services provides individual, marital, and family counseling with a focus on addiction recovery (including evaluations), abuse, healthy relationships, unplanned pregnancy, adoption, and birth parents. Youth prevention program focuses on issues of addiction, violence, promiscuity, and suicide. Variety of educational workshops available. - CSS is offering free counseling services to ranchers and producers facing stressful times. Stress comes out in different ways: family conflict; persistent worry; depression; irritability; relying on substance to manage. Adoption services offers domestic and international adoption services, including, but not limited to: support for individuals coping with the many emotions and decisions that come from choosing adoption; providing birth parents have the opportunity to interview and select the adoptive family; working under the provisions of Baby Moses law; and providing home studies and training for potential foster parents/homes Pregnancy Counseling supports mothers as they experience the many emotions and decision that come with facing an unplanned pregnancy and help find the options that will work the best. Assistance with medical costs associated with pregnancy may be available. Some infant items are also available (layettes, infant clothing, etc.). Caring and licensed social workers are available to travel and meet mothers involved in a crisis situation. Crisis pregnancy meeting sites will be kept confidential and be convenient for the mother. Start Making It Livable for Everyone (SMILE) classes for separating and divorcing parents with children under the age of 18, designed to: inform parents how to better understand the effects of divorce; assist parents to understand the needs of their children; help parents learn what they can do to create a nurturing and safe environment so their children can recover and feel good about themselves; inform parents how to prevent destructive game playing that is common among divorce; help parents gain problem solving skills; and let parents know they are not alone. Other programs include: Lakota Circles of Hope, Disaster Relief, and Uplifting Parents.

Crisis stabilization for adults, 18 years and older, who are experiencing a mental health or substance abuse crisis. Program features include: Voluntary program, CCC is not a locked facility Medical triage screening, at intake to determine the needed level of care Opportunity to speak with a qualified mental health professional (QMHP) Length of stay: Up to 24 hours Collaborative recovery oriented stabilization plan Immediate counseling services Referrals to community agencies including detox, inpatient services, and community based counseling Limited transportation available to the Crisis Care Center via local law enforcement Telephone crisis support and follow up Goals of the Crisis Care Center: Provide the community with crisis options other than inpatient psychiatric care, incarceration, and involuntary admission to detox services to match the level of need with the level of care. Improve access to after crisis follow-up and mental health and substance abuse treatment. Improve service integration and coordination amount agencies and providers to help individuals better navigate complex systems. Improve awareness about and access to services to assist people in entering the health care system for mental health and substance abuse services prior to entering a crisis state.

Co-occurring services throughout all programming are available to address not only substance use but also mental health symptoms: - Treatment Needs Assessment for Substance Abuse - Offers alcohol and drug assessments to determine level of care needed. - Jail Treatment Program - Alcohol and other drug abuse treatment services with an emphasis on criminal / addictive thinking and interactive journaling. The interactive journaling process encourages people to personalize the information they acquire and to take responsibility for their own recovery. Treatment is provided in the Minnehaha County Jail. - Adult Outpatient Treatment Program - Consists of group therapy, alcohol and other drug information, skill development and relapse prevention. - IMT (Intensive Methamphetamine Treatment) - consists of group therapy, individual therapy, case management, residential support and aftercare services. Intensity of services changes with the length of time spent in the program. Weekly participation ranges from 2-19 hours of service a week, depending on client needs.
