Family Connection, through the Children's Connection program, is working to break the generational cycle of incarceration. The program will involve group counseling and other appropriate services with an emphasis on providing support, education and other positive coping skills. The goal is to provide a safe place for children to talk and know they are not alone.

Workshops offer: Skill and idea description and demonstration Opportunity for couples to practice skills privately Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss their experiences if they would like - Introduction to Mindfulness: What happens in your life depends on your mind - Social Skills Group: For 10-15 year olds struggling with social skills or fitting in. Understanding Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: For children ages 5 - 11 and their birth, foster, or adoptive parents. While the parents or parenting team is involved in education, supportive discussion and training, the children will gather in a separate group to work on developmental and behavioral issues. - Mental Health First Aid Trainings: Offered periodically. Participants are taught to assess for risk of suicide or harm; listen non-judgmentally; give reassurance and information; encourage appropriate professional help; and encourage self-help and other support strategies. - Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainings: Offered periodically.
