Dakotah Pride Treatment Center - Outpatient Services | Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate - Human Services Department
Detoxification Service: Couteau Des Prairies Hospital will provide emergency, acute medical detoxification services for those requiring these services. A Dakotah Pride Center staff member will provide transportation for detoxification services and a staff counselor will provide motivational counseling for clients who are undergoing detoxification to seek treatment through Dakotah Pride Treatment Center.
Pre-treatment Evaluations: Provides screening, assessment, intervention, and treatment placement. Walk-in Assessments for Substance Use available.
Adult Outpatient Program: Outpatient treatment services are provided for individuals who meet the admission criteria. The objectives of the program are to provide treatment for individuals who require therapeutic and supportive counseling and referral services while living independently, who may have completed inpatient treatment previously but relapsed, or for whom residential treatment is not otherwise possible. The program meets three times a week in three hour long sessions for six weeks.
Adolescent Program: Provides outpatient treatment and continuing care services to adolescents that meet the eligibility criteria.
Prenatal Empowerment Program (PEP): Works primarily with pregnant women who are struggling with substance addiction. A case manager will do addiction assessments, assist with medical applications and applications for Substance Abuse Treatment Centers, coordinate transportation for clients to off-reservation treatment centers, and conduct outpatient group sessions utilizing the Matrix Model to promote healing.
Also, provides continuing care services and DUI offender classes.

A psychiatric hospital offering a wide range of services for geriatric, adult, adolescent, and child patients. This center approaches patient care with a special emphasis on trauma-informed care as well as biological, psychological, and social concerns.
- Inpatient Treatment: Available for patients ages 5 and older. All patients will be psychiatrically assessed and treated by a licensed and board-certified psychiatrist. Additionally, experienced nurses and patient care technicians provide individual specialized attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Inpatient Services: Specialized services include group and individual therapy, diagnostic testing, psychological evaluations, and family therapy. Recreational therapists provide a healing and therapeutic environment. Chemical Dependency Specialists perform detailed evaluations and treatment planning for patients struggling with addiction. Start Making It Livable for Everyone (SMILE) classes for separating and divorcing parents with children under the age of 18, designed to: inform parents how to better understand the effects of divorce; assist parents to understand the needs of their children; help parents learn what they can do to create a nurturing and safe environment so their children can recover and feel good about themselves; inform parents how to prevent destructive game playing that is common among divorce; help parents gain problem solving skills; and let parents know they are not alone.
