A psychiatric hospital offering a wide range of services for geriatric, adult, adolescent, and child patients. This center approaches patient care with a special emphasis on trauma-informed care as well as biological, psychological, and social concerns.
- Inpatient Treatment: Available for patients ages 5 and older. All patients will be psychiatrically assessed and treated by a licensed and board-certified psychiatrist. Additionally, experienced nurses and patient care technicians provide individual specialized attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Inpatient Services: Specialized services include group and individual therapy, diagnostic testing, psychological evaluations, and family therapy. Recreational therapists provide a healing and therapeutic environment. Chemical Dependency Specialists perform detailed evaluations and treatment planning for patients struggling with addiction. Intensive case management is available to coordinate external services for the hospitalized patient. The hospital's clergy is available upon patient request or a patient's own spiritual leader is welcome to provide comfort.
- Hospitalization Process: If hospitalization is required, patients are provided a full physical examination and medical evaluation at the Rapid City Monument Hospital Emergency Department prior to hospitalization. Please proceed to the Emergency Department first or if emergent treatment is needed, call local law enforcement or 911.
- Outpatient Clinic: Offers individual and family counseling services for patients of all ages as well as psychiatric diagnostic interviewing and medication management for patients of all ages.

Clients receive help with depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, adjustment issues, grief and loss, as well as other mental health issues. An adult outpatient, time-limited, intensive, and coordinated clinical treatment program with the goal of stabilization with the intention of averting inpatient hospitalization or reducing the length of a hospital stay.
Partial Hospital Program (PHP)
- Serves as a positive alternative when individual counseling does not fully meet the needs of the individual and when inpatient care is not necessary.
- 5 days per week, 4 hours per day.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
- The goal of program is to provide support while promoting independence, growth, individuality and self-reliance. Clients are assisted in learning new and more effective coping skills while remaining in their homes and their jobs.
- Generally 7 - 11 hours of structured programming per week consisting of counseling and education groups.

Mental Health services include individual, couples and family counseling, 24-hour QMHP services, psychiatric evaluations and medication management, school consultations, and employee assistance programs (EAP).
Alcohol and Drug Program treatment approach is based on the 12-step program of Alcoholics Anonymous and reality therapy. Services offered include individual counseling, chemical assessments, DUI education program, outpatient treatment, prevention education program, and a relapse prevention group.
Case Management and IMPACT Programs, designed to help clients with severe and persistent mental illness, services include case management and continued care, medication management with psychiatrist, crisis intervention assistance, and psychiatric rehabilitation which seeks to provide program services that assist clients in developing skills and manage resources needed to allow them to be successful in the community. A client centered, client directed form of treatment, the program consists of services designed to restore the disabled person to a level of functioning which permits a useful, meaningful life.
