Paula Lain Counseling (PLC) is a female-led counseling service that offers sessions for individuals, families, couples, and adolescents, with a particular emphasis on animal-assisted therapy.

Focuses on supporting people through grief/loss, life transitions, mental health challenges, and family conflict. The therapy process offers the ability to process situations that may be difficult while also giving clients the ability to learn new skills that improve their daily lives and relationships. Offers crisis/sooner access mental health therapy sessions for patients experiencing increased mental health needs. Sessions often can be scheduled same-day or within 3 business days. Patient meets with mental health therapist for a 30-45 minute brief crisis session: processing stressors, support systems, coping mechanisms, providing brief therapeutic interventions. Goal is to meet patients in their time of need and assist with re-regulation of emotional state and assisting with ensuring ongoing follow-up care (if needed).
