Suicide Prevention Specialist programming to assist with prevention activities.

Provides alcohol and substance treatment to the Rapid City (Mni Luzahan) Native American Community and other affiliated tribes in the region. The Native Healing Program utilizes the traditional Native American life ways as a method of healing the spirit. Offers the following: individual counseling, family counseling, substance use counseling, psychological assessments, outpatient substance use treatment, and grief counseling. Also, provides Codependency Workshops, 12 hour DUI class, substance abuse treatment needs assessments, and talking circle. Fully accredited with State of South Dakota for outpatient services. Open to all.

Detoxification Service: Couteau Des Prairies Hospital will provide emergency, acute medical detoxification services for those requiring these services. A Dakotah Pride Center staff member will provide transportation for detoxification services and a staff counselor will provide motivational counseling for clients who are undergoing detoxification to seek treatment through Dakotah Pride Treatment Center. Pre-treatment Evaluations: Provides screening, assessment, intervention, and treatment placement. Walk-in Assessments for Substance Use available. Adult Outpatient Program: Outpatient treatment services are provided for individuals who meet the admission criteria. The objectives of the program are to provide treatment for individuals who require therapeutic and supportive counseling and referral services while living independently, who may have completed inpatient treatment previously but relapsed, or for whom residential treatment is not otherwise possible. The program meets three times a week in three hour long sessions for six weeks. Adolescent Program: Provides outpatient treatment and continuing care services to adolescents that meet the eligibility criteria. Prenatal Empowerment Program (PEP): Works primarily with pregnant women who are struggling with substance addiction. A case manager will do addiction assessments, assist with medical applications and applications for Substance Abuse Treatment Centers, coordinate transportation for clients to off-reservation treatment centers, and conduct outpatient group sessions utilizing the Matrix Model to promote healing. Also, provides continuing care services and DUI offender classes.

The Counseling Center offers the following services (all services based on eligibility and priority needs): Substance abuse services include screening, intake, evaluation, referrals, aftercare, primary prevention programs, education, MRT/SBISA classes, and group counseling. ​Mental health services include couples therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, Education, Referrals, and Psychological evaluations and services.

Culturally sensitive adult and youth outpatient treatment programs and residential alcohol treatment facility. After care programs, youth alcohol and drug assessments, and youth treatment placement.

Provides prevention services (aimed at delaying the initiation and/or progression of alcohol and other drugs) and early intervention services (aimed at curbing risk behaviors such as binge drinking that has not yet become a disorder such as alcoholism. Early Intervention services are delivered in groups or one-on-one with clients. Early Intervention links the client with both internal and/or external resources that are the most appropriate for his/her situation)

Outpatient program services for substance use and mental health (including co-occurring issues). Incorporates Lakota cultural traditional health along with mainstream modalities. These include crisis intervention, individual, family, and couples therapy, outpatient groups for both mental health and substance use issues, community prevention, discharge and aftercare planning, Referrals for involuntary and emergency services, psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, Medication Management, inpatient treatment referrals for substance use and mental health counseling (including co-occurring issues), Integrated Care Case Management, anger management group, art therapy group for youth and adults, and recovery coaching - please call for more information. A comprehensive substance abuse program offering addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery support services for adolescents and adults experiencing problems with alcohol and drugs. Traditional concepts of health among many American Indian families within the Pine Ridge Tribal Lands involve the intersection of physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing, which are all seen as inextricably linked. Therefore, ALO uses a comprehensive approach for behavioral health programming, which is guided by traditional Lakota values (ie. waca'tognaka (generosity), woohitika (courage), wowaci'ta'ka (perseverance), waoholaka (respect), wau'sila (compassion), and woksape (wisdom). -

Aims to assist clients in recovery maintenance. Recovery Support services includes formal aftercare programs, wellbriety, traditional pathways, and talking circles. Clients may have had their primary treatment experience within Anpetu Luta Otipi or they may arrive to the program in order to solely take advantage of formal and informal recovery support services. Recovery Support programs build on the progress achieved in primary treatment assisting the client to maintain a commitment to sobriety by encouraging a continuous self and environmental reflection. Recovery Support programs help the client continue to develop their problem solving skills and individual and family healing.

Intake information is required prior to first therapy session. The session is typically a 55 minute session, much like those who come in for an in person session.
