Sanford Hospice is a specially trained team that is committed to providing our patients with quality end-of-life care. Our interdisciplinary team understands and is sensitive to the needs of our patients and their loved ones. Our team is comprised of nurses, medical director, social workers, dietitians, volunteers and chaplains. Hospice services can be provided wherever that patient calls home. This includes inpatient hospice, hospice cottages, nursing homes, assisted livings, and other long term care facilities. Hospice cottages, a unique way to care for a terminally-ill patient who is unable to remain in their home for care, are available, as well. ​​Ava's House features 16 adult patient rooms and 4 pediatric patient rooms. Start Making It Livable for Everyone (SMILE) classes for separating and divorcing parents with children under the age of 18, designed to: inform parents how to better understand the effects of divorce; assist parents to understand the needs of their children; help parents learn what they can do to create a nurturing and safe environment so their children can recover and feel good about themselves; inform parents how to prevent destructive game playing that is common among divorce; help parents gain problem solving skills; and let parents know they are not alone. Other programs include: Lakota Circles of Hope, Disaster Relief, and Uplifting Parents.

Oncology Outpatient Therapist - offer counseling for people with cancer at any stage of treatment or recovery. Addressing issues of adjustment to illness, fear of reoccurrence, cancer induced distress, anxiety, depression, life legacy, advance care planning, grief, and bereavement. Also available to see any family or support members of the individual for counseling. ​​Telehealth available for any individual with cancer or their support person. May be in active treatment or out of treatment.
