Volunteers of America hosts a Veteran Outreach Center Monday through Friday, where Veterans and their families can access immediate resources including: laundry room and necessary supplies. shower facilities and personal care supplies, computer resource center, community day room with coffee and snacks, and access to copier and mail center.

Veteran support groups are available at both Vet Centers in Rapid City and Sioux Falls. Groups include a men's Vietnam support group, women's support group, garden group, and Project Healing Waters group. Also offers a combat and military sexual trauma support group and a service building spiritual strength group. Groups are subject to change throughout the year. Must be enrolled at the Vet Center to participate.

Provides trauma-informed care using brain-based, evidence-informed approaches to support healing and emotional regulation. This includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), ART, and neuropsychotherapy Services include individual counseling, divorce counseling, dialectical behavioral therapy, LGBTQ+ counseling, pain management, child abuse counseling, child abuse survivor counseling for adults, couples counseling, parent counseling, spouse/intimate partner abuse counseling, marriage counseling, substance abuse counseling, grief/bereavement counseling, terminal illness counseling, trauma informed therapy, telemental health counseling, coaching & personal development, and consulting & organizational support. Other areas of training or expertise include working with veterans, first responders, healthcare providers, leaders, therapists, and individuals navigating mental health needs, in addition to women's health & hormonal support and sex therapy. Also offers a wide variety of support groups such as blended family dynamics, neurodivergent adults, perimenopause and midlife transitions, men's mental health, divorce and relationship transitions, codependency and boundary building, grief & loss support, and family & spouses of veterans.

General medical and surgical, primary, nursing home, and rehabilitative care. Behavioral health services including addictive disorder services (ADS), compensated work therapy, Residential Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) program, Mental health intensive case management, inpatient psychiatric services, and outpatient psychiatric services. Gun locks are available through the Suicide Prevention Coordinator.

Community-based counseling center that provide a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active duty service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families. Bereavement services for family members is also available. Readjustment counseling is offered to make a successful transition from military to civilian life or after a traumatic event experienced in the military. Individual, group, couples, and family counseling is offered in addition to referral and connection to other VA or community benefits and services.

The Objective Zero App connects service members, veterans, their families, and caregivers to peer and civilian support through voice, video and text and to mental health and wellness tools and resources. The app is free to download and free to use.
