It uses methods based on the tools of SMART (Self Maintenance and Recovery Training) Recovery and CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) to provide resources and support for those who are affected by the addictions of a loved one.

A 12-step self-help support group for those affected by the compulsive gambling of a loved one. Local area meetings are attended only by those who have this problem. Gam-Anon honors the anonymity of members by not using last names, not speaking about our meetings, and not discussing those who are attending to anyone who is not attending. The International Service Office supports the individual Gam-Anon meetings all over the world. See website for a list of meetings. Local meetings may not always be available, but virtual meetings are an option.
