Sanford Vermillion Medical Center is a full service hospital and clinic providing the following services: 24-Hour Emergency Care, Ground and Air Ambulance support/access, medical, surgical, pediatric, and obstetrical care, outpatient nursing services (including chemotherapy), family medicine clinic, diagnostic services, home care and hospice programs, outpatient mental health counseling, rehabilitation therapies, respiratory care, acute care hours Saturday morning, Sunday afternoon, and weekday evenings, sports medicine, community health education, specialty outreach services (cardiology, diagnostic radiology, ENT surgery, general surgery, neurology, nephrology, oncology, orthopedics, podiatry, psychiatry, pulmonology, urology, and vascular surgery), and University of South Dakota student health services. Vermillion Medical Center has a teaching affiliation with USD Health Science Program.

Provides nursing facility and short-term rehabilitation care in a home-like environment with individualized care plans. Services include but are not limited to 24-hour nursing care, wound care management, nutrition services, safety systems, pain management, recreational activities, in-house pet therapy, physical/occupational/speech therapy, and restorative therapy. Also provides memory support, hospice, respite care services.

Individual, couples, or family therapy for the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and seniors focusing on issues including, but are not limited to anxiety, mood, personality disorders, somatization disorders, psychosexual disorders, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), abuse issues, eating disorders, dementia, grief and loss, childhood emotional and behavioral disorders, spirituality, stress management, and executive health. Evaluations available include psychiatric, psychological, neuropsychological, forensic, and custody.

Provides family guidance and coaching, in-service programs, and community education courses to help individuals learn how to care for people with dementia. Also provided are life enrichment activities for people with dementia and a hospice chaplain on-site.
