Delivers patient-centered, team-based care, and provides clinical services for: comprehensive ambulatory medical services for all genders and all ages, acute illness and chronic illness management, immunizations, children's well child exams, adult care, women's health, All Women Count, lab services, school/sport/commercial driver license (CDL) physicals, pre-operative exams, preventative cancer screenings, comprehensive diabetes program, health promotion and education, SD plan & family planning services, HIV & STD testing / STI prevention education, and medication assisted treatment, case management, and certified patient navigators. SDUIH is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Transportation is available for current patients if needed.

Behavioral Health Services available from licensed substance abuse and mental health counselors. ​Services include: chemical dependency assessments and Level 1.0 counseling, individual, couples, and family behavioral health counseling, Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) for patients recovering from substance use disorders, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapy, and psychiatry team availability. Transportation is available for current patients if needed.

Professional Staff Development Trainings to Agencies and Community, educational events, and presentations surrounding different indigenous educational topics including cultural intelligence, cultural methodology, and healing-informed training to aid in identity development and reconnection to indigenous values. Black Hills Sacred Site Solstice and Equinox onsite ceremony presentations. Trainings available include Lakota Mental Health First-Aid Training (Rick and Ethleen Two Dogs), Tipi Raising Presentation, Buffalo Hide Tanning Presentation, Bow and Arrow Making Presentation, Bapa (Dried Meat) and Wojapi (Wild Fruit) Training, Wokpan Kit Making, Medicinal Tea Making, Inipi (Sweat Lodge) Presentation and Orientation.

Oyate Behavioral Health is a component of Integrated Health Care. Individual Behavioral health services are offered through Clinic Appointment and Telehealth scheduled appointments. Walk-ins may be available. Provides the following services: comprehensive assessment, outpatient child/adult counseling and psychiatric services, medication management, group and family counseling, community support and education, telepsychiatry consultation, and dual diagnosis treatment. COVID Testing Option: ​Oyate Health Center Urgent Care 3200 Canyon Lake Drive 7:00am - 7:00pm (MT), 7 days a week Christmas Eve closes at 3pm (MT). Closed on Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Oyate Health Center provides primary medical care, outpatient clinic, and urgent care. Additional outpatient services that are provided on site include optometry, pharmacy (Prescription Drug Take Back Site, blue drop-box by pharmacy), laboratory, radiology, dental, physical therapy, podiatry, and social services. Oyate Health Center has 2 sweat lodges. Please call for details. Oyate Health Center provides direct health services to Native Americans and provides contract health care services and referrals to those that are eligible within IHS requirements. This means that if a patient is enrolled in a federally recognized tribe or can prove lineage of descent of an enrolled tribal member; the patient may receive direct care services at Oyate Health Center. Prescription Assistance - Any Native American enrolled in a federally recognized tribe can receive prescription expense assistance at any IHS facility.

Outpatient program services for substance use and mental health (including co-occurring issues). Incorporates Lakota cultural traditional health along with mainstream modalities. These include crisis intervention, individual, family, and couples therapy, outpatient groups for both mental health and substance use issues, community prevention, discharge and aftercare planning, Referrals for involuntary and emergency services, psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, Medication Management, inpatient treatment referrals for substance use and mental health counseling (including co-occurring issues), Integrated Care Case Management, anger management group, art therapy group for youth and adults, and recovery coaching - please call for more information. Also includes a Transitional Living Center for pre-treatment (before treatment) and aftercare services provided 24/7. Co-ed facility.

Offers traditional medicines (flat cedar/hante sha; sage/pezi hota; sweetgrass/wacanga; bear root/mato heta;bitterroot/sinpetu; medicinal tea blends; homemade honey) spiritual guidance, smudging, and a warm and welcome space for relatives to come and talk. Some regular activities include: Inipi sweat purification ceremony for all Indigenous community members seeking spiritual connection, being mindful of those in attendance and taking care that all participants feel safe. Those who are on their moon time are respectfully asked to not attend. Community Inipi is open to men, women, children, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse community members seeking spiritual connection. Women's Inipi is open to all women, as well as Two-Spirit and non-binary community members who align with women's spiritual teachings. Positive Indian Parenting (PIP) - an 8-week parent training class for Indigenous parents, caregivers, non-Native foster parents of Indigenous children, and others who strive to be more positive in their approach to parenting. It is a structured exploration of traditional American Indian and Alaska Native values concerning parenting and helps participants apply those values in a modem setting. Red Road Approach (RRA) men's and women's groups provide a cognitive and experiential curriculum on Native American/Indigenous philosophies, activating the spirit for individuals, families, and communities. Participants are guided through lessons on the impacts of alcohol and drugs on the mind, body, and spirit. This 10-week adult program meets on a weekly basis. Incentives are available for graduates of the program. ​Spiritual Group is a safe space for those seeking support, healing, and a time to connect with others in the community. All are welcome. Alcoholics Anonymous provides a confidential, safe and non- judgmental setting for those experiencing substance use disorder (SUD). A A follows a 12-step program focusing on actions that guide members through their recovery journey. This is an open yet confidential group. Anyone is welcome. No sign-up is necessary. Other cultural activities, such as Walking group and therapeutic crafts, are offered during the week to take care of individuals spirit and keep connected to traditional Indigenous ways of life. Open to the community as an opportunity to warm up with some coffee and work on beading and sewing with help from experts. Wellbriety is a 12-step meeting and recovery developed by White Bison. It is rooted in the teachings of Medicine Wheel, They Cycle of Life and the Four Laws of Changes. This group is open to all, and may be provided virtually. Other cultural activities, such as Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Group, Prayer Songs class and other welcoming events are offered during the week to take care of individuals spirit and keep connected to traditional Indigenous ways of life. Fostering connections and healing through Talking Circles, Inipi ceremonies and church worship services.

Provides alcohol and substance treatment to the Rapid City (Mni Luzahan) Native American Community and other affiliated tribes in the region. The Native Healing Program utilizes the traditional Native American life ways as a method of healing the spirit. Offers the following: individual counseling, family counseling, substance use counseling, psychological assessments, outpatient substance use treatment, and grief counseling. Also, provides Codependency Workshops, 12 hour DUI class, substance abuse treatment needs assessments, and talking circle. Fully accredited with State of South Dakota for outpatient services. Open to all.

Provides substance and alcohol use prevention, intervention, and continuum of care, behavioral health case management and issues encountered in a conditional behavior environment-(Assimilation). Services provided include alcohol and drug screenings/assessments and substance use and abuse prevention/education/intervention with a cultural approach to healing and cultural identity development.
