Arise Youth Center provides detention alternatives for youth in Minnehaha County, including: - Reception Center: Safe environment for law enforcement can transport youth to wait to be picked up by a parent or approved adult, staff complete screenings and offer resources to the youth and their parent or guardian. - Shelter Care: Temporary care as an alternative to going into a secure detention facility if the youth does not require that level of service. Assists youth and their parent or guardian through a screening process to identify needs and community resources along with a discharge plan in collaboration with the court system. Evening Reporting Center: An alternative to detention that allows youth to remain in the community while receiving additional services. Services include 4 hours of programming that incorporates homework help, meal planning and preparation and job skill development.

Adolescent substance use prevention, early intervention, drug and alcohol assessments and outpatient treatment for all youth in the Rapid City, Box Elder and area communities. Lifeways has school-based Addiction and Prevention Counselors in the Rapid City Area School District and limited services in the Douglas School District. Addiction Counselors are also available at main office in Rapid City for all adolescents (public, private and home-schooled) who are experiencing problems with substance use and in need of screening and/or assessment and treatment.

Boys' Health Program is offered to those who may be at risk of developing physical, mental, or social health problems. Boys are referred to the program by school counselors, teachers, parents, health service providers, and social services agencies. Once enrolled, boys work closely with advocates to set and attain individualized goals. This program provides health-focused case management, education, advocacy, and prevention services. The Boys' Health Program helps lay the groundwork for lifestyle habits and attitudes that will strongly influence boys' health and behaviors as adults.

The CWOY Support Navigator program is designed to provide support for American Indian youth, adults, and their families in the He Sapa area who struggle with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. CWOY Support Navigators act as mentors, advocates, and resource guides for American Indian youth, adults, and families needing support for their healing and personal growth. Services offered include one-on-one mentorship, advocacy, individualized care planning, outings, activities and workshops, transportation to appointments, collaboration with behavioral health resources, coordination for success in academic programs, communication with family members, connecting participants to peer and community programs in support of healing goals, skill-building, mental health counseling, and therapeutic circles.

A residential group care program for males, who have adjustment problems, between the ages of 9 and 18 years old and an independent living program for males between the ages of 17 and 20 years old. During residency, the boy is provided with educational services (accredited on-campus school capable of issuing high school diplomas) as well as programming designed to assist him in developing positive self esteem, life skills, a positive work ethic, and self-sufficiency. The Juvenile Diversion Program, which includes Teen Court and Truancy Court, is a collaboration between the Pennington County State's Attorney, the 7th Judicial Court, and local social service providers. It is offered as an alternative to court involvement for juvenile offenders ages 10-17. Teen Court is a volunteer youth program, and accepts volunteers 14-17 years old. Charges typically eligible for diversion include: Minor consumption/possession of alcohol Shoplifting Simple assault Disorderly conduct Disturbance in school Truancy Possession of tobacco, marijuana, or drug paraphernalia The following are some of the classes and other activities that may be required during the three-month program. Participants are responsible for all program costs. Scholarships may be available for families needing financial assistance. - Property Offense and Stop and Think Classes, a two-hour class emphasizing choices and consequences. - Community Service, juveniles work as volunteers in the community for a specific number of hours in either diversion-arranged projects or at other sites arranged by the family. - M.A.D.D. Victim Impact Panel, juveniles attend a presentation by individuals whose lives have been affected by drinking and driving accidents. - Tattoo Removal, juveniles wanting tattoos removed, can be referred to T.R.U.S.T. (Tattoo Removal Unified Support Team).

The WPRC seeks to divert or delay those we serve from substance use and other high-risk behaviors to promote choices/behaviors resulting in lifelong mind and body wellness. The WPRC primarily focuses prevention support services to stakeholders in South Dakota's 22 westernmost counties, but often serves an even broader audience. The WPRC's services include providing education, technical assistance, training and other support to prevention service providers, youth, parents, educators, community groups, social service providers, health/wellness agencies, chemical dependency service providers, law enforcement and other community wellness stakeholders.
