Oyate Health Center provides direct health services to Native Americans and provides contract health care services and referrals to those that are eligible within IHS requirements. This means that if a patient is enrolled in a federally recognized tribe or can prove lineage of descent of an enrolled tribal member; the patient may receive direct care services at Oyate Health Center.
Prescription Assistance - Any Native American enrolled in a federally recognized tribe can receive prescription expense assistance at any IHS facility.

In addition to shelter and food, services include: personal and rape advocacy, support groups, legal advocacy and referrals to other service agencies. The Women's Lodge can hold up to 18 adults and children before anyone has to sleep on the floor. Staff can also make arrangements if at full capacity or for other reasons if need be. Two-thirds of residents are usually children since most bring their children with them to protect them from the abuser's violence.

Medically Monitored Withdrawal Management:
Individuals in need of medically monitored detoxification treatment for substance use disorders may participate in our 10-bed program. Individuals may be admitted voluntarily or involuntarily under an Emergency Detainment or Involuntary Drug and Alcohol Committal (IVC). During a short-term stay (approximately 3-7 days), we will provide medical stabilization to support a safe withdrawal and provide recommendations for continued care and treatment after discharge.
Sobering Observation for Intoxicated Individuals:
Individuals under the influence of alcohol or other mood-altering substances who are in need of observation and support in order to reach a safe level of sobriety may participate in our sobering observation program. Prior to discharge, we will offer connections to community resources and provide education regarding available substance use treatment options.
Crisis Stabilization
Offers support to individuals with mental health concerns that are acute in nature, but do not require inpatient hospitalization. Services include a brief crisis evaluation, individualized treatment plan, referrals to outpatient or community resources as needed, visit with a provider, and safety planning and counseling services.
