The PATH (Providing Access to Healing) Program provides school-based mental health counseling services in a partnership between LSS, local school districts, and the Sioux Empire United Way. PATH provides confidential, individual counseling sessions at the school for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Counseling sessions are held in a private room on-site at the school during regular school hours. Every effort is made to have as minimal impact as possible on the students daily routine. Counselors use accepted therapy practices that are appropriate for the student's age and challenges. A counseling session could include talking, art, games, movement, toys, or music as therapy tools. More than 40 schools in Sioux Falls, Harrisburg, Canton, Brandon Valley, Garretson, Dell Rapids, Baltic, Tea Area, Sioux Falls Catholic, West Central, and Tri-Valley are involved. Individual school participation varies.

Hospice Care is special care for patients who have a diagnosis of a terminal illness or a significant decline in overall health. Hospice care can be set up at home, in long-term care facilities or assisted living, or hospice centers. Hospice professionals are specially trained to manage pain and symptoms with palliative medicine at the end of life so patients are comfortable, yet alert and able to enjoy each day to the fullest extent possible.

During a supervised visitation parents/guardians are monitored while they visit with their children to ensure that the children are safe and the parent/guardian has appropriate behavior. These visits are documented and video recorded. A supervised exchange is a monitored exchange of the child from one parent to another parent. This is to ensure that the parents don't have contact with one another. Transportation of children in foster care to and from visits is also available to foster parents who are unable to transport.

The SMART program is a secular, science-based approach to addictive behavior of any kind.

Mobile Vet Center (MVC) are large mobile vehicles with space for confidential counseling and are used to provide outreach to individuals in communities that are distant from existing services. Also provides emergency services in response to national emergencies and disasters.

Works to increase identification of youth and families who have been exposed to traumatic stress and shorten the time it takes to get them into effective treatment programs. Offers free screenings to children who may be experiencing traumatic stress, and then, if information warrants, a full assessment will be scheduled. Youth and families who are identified as experiencing traumatic stress will be referred to appropriate treatment providers.
