Bright Start is a community-based, voluntary program which implements the evidence based Nurse Family Partnership model to provide nurse home visitation services to families during pregnancy, after delivery and may continue until the child's second birthday. Services include prenatal, maternal and infant/child health assessments and education; and health, safety and nutrition education. Families are linked with resources such as prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric medical care, family planning services, mental health services, job training, literacy services, employment opportunities, housing, substance abuse treatment, early childhood assessment and intervention opportunities, and other community resources

Offers primary care, mental health care, treatment for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and suicide prevention. Also offers transitional and supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness. Gun safety locks are available through the Suicide Prevention Coordinator.

Providing a safe, culturally grounded space for Native Youth in Rapid City to foster healing, health, and wellness while building self-determination and strengthening life skills. Center Amenities and Services offered include daily meals and snacks, food/hygiene pantry, access to shower and laundry facilities, social and recreational activities (e.g. basketball and volleyball courts, gaming area, and computer lab), Creative Arts (i.e. on-site recording studio, arts and crafts room), Life Skills Workshops, Homework Help, Tutoring, and an on-site K-12 homeschool option. Additional programs offered include a Street Outreach Team that connects homeless or at-risk youth to basic necessities and Resource Navigators to connect youth and families with vital services ---mentorship, obtaining personal identification documents, pursuing employment opportunities, and/or finding emergency shelter/stable housing.

Pharmacy services include immunizations, prescription refills, health screenings, and a medication disposal drop box. - Medication disposal drop-boxes for expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications, including pet medications. Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.

​Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services of medical and psychiatric natures to persons with physical conditions requiring nursing home care and psychiatric conditions requiring in-patient hospitalization. Under the supervision of credentialed doctoral level faculty, master's degree students provide quality therapy to families, couples and individuals in a safe and confidential environment. No one is turned away due to a lack of ability to pay. Help for those experiencing a variety of problems, including loneliness and isolation, anxiety and depression, trauma, abuse, betrayal, anger and conflict, grief and loss, communication issues, family or lifestyle transitions, parenting difficulties, behavioral changes, relationship challenges, medical challenges, spiritual or identity issues, separation, divorce, remarriage, and marital affairs.

Provides support groups for survivors of domestic violence. ​Support groups include Hands are Not for Hitting and Pattern Changing Group. Hands are Not for Hitting is for children aged 6 - 12 years who have been victimized by domestic violence or sexual assault. The focus of the group is to help child victims of violence solve problems nonviolently and learn to identify and express their feelings in a healthy way. Children learn that the abuse is not their fault and they have their feelings validated. Pattern Changing Group is designed to help women who have been in abusive relationships gain confidence in themselves and learn to live healthy and abusive free lives. Child care is available for those attending group.

Core services are survivor-centered and designed to promote safety, empowerment, and long-term stability by including emergency shelter, crisis intervention, and individualized advocacy. Advocates provide confidential support, assist with danger assessments, safety planning, and navigation of tribal and state legal systems, including protection orders, custody filings, and court accompaniment. Medical advocacy is available for hospital, clinic, and SANE exam visits. Staff also support access to victim compensation, transportation, healthcare, employment, childcare, and housing resources. Counseling and support groups help survivors process trauma and rebuild safety. All services are culturally responsive, emphasizing respect, community, and healing. Smudging is offered in the shelter, and clients are connected to tribal elders and cultural mentors for additional traditional healing. A 24-hour crisis line provides immediate, confidential support, while community education promotes healthy relationships, consent awareness, and bystander intervention. The shelter program also hosts Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault community education/awareness/prevention events to the public or organizations within the community.

The Huron Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) serves male adolescents ages 10-17. The program focuses on helping them develop healthier attitudes, stronger coping skills and positive strategies to address the concerns that led to treatment. Care is guided by the Together Facing the Challenge (TFTC) evidence-based treatment model. It emphasizes relationship-building, skill development, and strength-based approaches. A multidisciplinary treatment team works closely with each youth and his family to design an individualized treatment plan focused on specific needs and goals, with progress reviewed regularly. Weekly programming includes anger management groups, strategies groups, independent living skills training, drug and alcohol education, group therapy and individualized assignments. Individual therapy and family therapy may be offered on an individualized basis according to the treatment team's recommendations. The program also emphasizes the role of therapeutic groups. This environment helps youth learn and practice respect for self and others, develop healthy relationships, set and meet expectations, and take responsibility for creating a safe and supportive community.
