The Juvenile Diversion Program, which includes Teen Court and Truancy Court, is a collaboration between the Pennington County State's Attorney, the 7th Judicial Court, and local social service providers. It is offered as an alternative to court involvement for juvenile offenders ages 10-17. Teen Court is a volunteer youth program, and accepts volunteers 14-17 years old. Charges typically eligible for diversion include: Minor consumption/possession of alcohol Shoplifting Simple assault Disorderly conduct Disturbance in school Truancy Possession of tobacco, marijuana, or drug paraphernalia The following are some of the classes and other activities that may be required during the three-month program. Participants are responsible for all program costs. Scholarships may be available for families needing financial assistance.

• Property Offense and Stop and Think Classes, a two-hour class emphasizing choices and consequences.
• Community Service, juveniles work as volunteers in the community for a specific number of hours in either diversion-arranged projects or at other sites arranged by the family.
• M.A.D.D. Victim Impact Panel, juveniles attend a presentation by individuals whose lives have been affected by drinking and driving accidents.
• Tattoo Removal, juveniles wanting tattoos removed, can be referred to T.R.U.S.T. (Tattoo Removal Unified Support Team).

Comprehensive services include counseling and support groups over the phone, online and in-person, educational workshops, publications and financial and co-payment assistance. All services are provided by oncology social workers and world-leading cancer experts. Offers individual counseling or support groups in three ways: face-to-face, on the telephone, and online. Connect with others in support groups for cancer patients, loved ones and people who have lost a loved one, led by master's-prepared oncology social workers. Online support groups are available, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Provides secure detention of juveniles who have allegedly committed a delinquent act and non-secure detention for alleged children in need of supervision. While in detention, the juvenile is provided educational and recreational opportunities. The educational services are provided by the Sioux Falls School District. Juveniles may be sentenced to the Center by the Courts for up to 90 days.

Provides the following mental health services: adult psychiatry, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), medication management, counseling (individual, family, couple, marriage, and play therapy for children), psychological testing, several support groups, and parenting classes.

An ambulatory care center with outpatient services. Services include dental care, mental health services, public health nurse, environmental health care, optometry, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy (Prescription Assistance - Enrolled members of a Native American tribe can get free prescriptions by visiting their local IHS), podiatry, HIV Clinic, SANE services, and Fitness Center.

Pharmacy services include immunizations, prescription refills, health screenings, and a medication disposal drop box. - Medication disposal drop-boxes for expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications, including pet medications. Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.

Provides services for individual, couples, children, and family counseling as well as anger evaluations, and anger management. Committed to helping people who are experiencing emotional, psychological, personal, or family problems to increase hope and fulfill their treatment goals for a better life.

Provides emergency response, crime prevention, community policing, traffic enforcement, investigations and a year round drug take-back site.

Children's Connection works with the Sioux Falls School District to provide group counseling services to children with an incarcerated loved one. Family Connection, through the Children's Connection program, is working to break the generational cycle of incarceration. The program involves group counseling and other appropriate services with an emphasis on providing support, education and other positive coping skills. The goal is to provide a safe place for children to talk and know they are not alone.

Services include diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, couple and family therapy, medication management, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD) treatment. Telehealth services available.

Outpatient Services - Individual therapy (for mental health or substance use), Family therapy, Group therapy, Medication management, Psychological assessments and testing, Commitment evaluations, Nursing home consultations, and 24-hour a day crisis intervention via crisis line. Walk in assessments available during regular business hours at the Yankton and Vermillion locations. CARE Club - Program for individuals with a mental health disability (i.e. schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety and borderline personality) who live in the community. CARE club provides support, assistance, interaction with others and the opportunity to improve consumers existing skills and develop new coping skills. Children's Services - Provides child centered therapeutic services in the home or office. This program provides mental health services to children with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). The parents, families, and surrogate families of children with SED participate in all aspects of evaluation, planning and delivery of services. Works closely with child-serving agencies and programs.

Provides legal services to tribal members charged with criminal offenses. Represents respondents in matters involving juvenile delinquency, involuntary commitment, abuse and neglect, and guardian Ad Litem cases.

Providing personalized applied behavior analysis therapy to those who have an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, developmental delay, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, genetic disorders, sleep disorders, or other conditions. Services focus on skills like language, social interaction, daily living, and behavior replacement. This in-home therapy includes parent training and behavior consultations.

Prairie Lakes Healthcare System offers support groups that offer individuals help with coping with a chronic disease or life event. Support Groups that are offered include: Your Total Joint Surgery: An education session for patients considering or have scheduled for total joint replacement surgery along with their caregiver or coach. Grief Support Group: A six-week grief support session where those who have experienced the death of a loved one can find comfort, support, and hope.

Bright Start is a community-based, voluntary program which implements the evidence based Nurse Family Partnership model to provide nurse home visitation services to families during pregnancy, after delivery and may continue until the child's second birthday. Services include prenatal, maternal and infant/child health assessments and education; and health, safety and nutrition education. Families are linked with resources such as prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric medical care, family planning services, mental health services, job training, literacy services, employment opportunities, housing, substance abuse treatment, early childhood assessment and intervention opportunities, and other community resources

Provides a full range of primary healthcare services including physical exams, chronic disease management, acute illness management, physicals, well child exams, children/adolescent/men/women healthcare services, immunizations, telemedicine related to medical and mental health needs, certified laboratory services, All Women Count services, assistance with Marketplace insurance enrollment, and allergy injections. Some sites provide Department of Transportation physicals. Nurse triage available for after-hours calls. Situation will be assessed by a registered nurse with further guidance provided. Strives to meet the needs of all patients, including the underinsured and underserved and offers services at a reduced rate to those who qualify.

24-hour emergency shelter for women and children that provides crisis services for rape victims, child abuse victims and their non-offending family members, family members of homicide victims, adults molested as children, and victims of elder abuse. Services include accompany victims to hospital and through systems, transportation, advocacy, including criminal justice and court, emergency clothing and other supplies, assistance with protection orders, weekly women's support groups, crisis counseling, referrals and information, and assistance in filing for victim compensation.

Psychotherapy group meeting for adolescents age 13 - 18 (still in school), facilitated by a trained mental health professional. Group uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and coping skills to help adolescents develop strategies to manage daily stress and emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Provides fully integrated medical and behavioral health care services and is a designated Primary Care Provider for Medicaid and Medicaid Health Home. Treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, marital therapy, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness based, motivational interviewing, and solution focused brief counseling. MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) is offered to people who have moderate to severe opioid dependence. Because there is a complex relationship between health, mental health, and addiction, this treatment provides an integrated approach that focuses on the whole person. There are three ways to schedule an appointment with LCBHS: Call to schedule an appointment Referral from your healthcare provider Referral following a treatment needs assessment from an accredited Substance Use Treatment Provider Individuals can often be seen on the same day that you call or are referred. Everyone will receive an assessment to determine whether or not MAT is appropriate/to help determine the most appropriate level of care. If MAT is determined to be an option, staff provide education about the different forms of MAT. Two forms of MAT are offered at LCBHS: Treatment with Buprenorphine Treatment with short- or long-acting Naltrexone A plan is developed with the patient's provider for the specific form of MAT treatment, level of care, and length of service based on your individual needs. Initial drug screening is required as are laboratory studies depending on history and type of MAT. Ongoing random drug testing is an integral part of treatment. Medically monitored withdrawal management is provided in a residential setting and is available if needed. There is not a set length of time for MAT. While many people may need to stay on medication indefinitely, others may choose to taper off or discontinue using MAT medications.
