DCI/Downtown (Appropriate Regional Facility) | Dakota Counseling Institute
DCI/Downtown has been designated an Appropriate Regional Facility (ARF) by the South Dakota Division of Behavioral Health. They are staffed 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, and have a capacity of four beds for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and in need of a safe place to be while waiting for a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP) evaluation. Individuals can stay up to 3 days in hopes that they can be linked to services in their community that will assist them in returning to their home rather than having to go on to inpatient psychiatric treatment. The ARF will mostly focus on crisis stabilization, and linking individuals to the services that will allow success in the long-term.
